BASELINE
has worked for cities and counties throughout the Bay area and
the Central Valley, providing environmental review of aggregate
mining and reclamation projects. Our in-house capabilities for
CEQA/NEPA documents include the preparation of sections on geology, hydrology, water
quality, public health, land use, visual analysis, public services,
energy, utilities, noise, and air quality. If we do not serve
as prime consultant for an EIR/EIS, we often act as subconsultants
to other consulting firms, generally in the areas of geology,
hydrology, public health, air quality, noise, and water quality.
Over the past 18 years, BASELINE has performed environmental
impact analysis for over 14 aggregate mining industry EIR projects
throughout northern California. In the course of that experience,
we have addressed numerous complex and challenging issues, including
potential "stream capture" of mining pits, biomagnification
of mercury, restoration of mined lands to productive agricultural
use, and the effects of mining on alluvial aquifers. In all cases,
the EIRs were certified and the projects were approved.
If
you have any questions or would like further information, our
primary contact for aggregate management issues is Bruce Abelli-Amen,
Senior Hydrogeologist, at webinquiry@baseline-env.com.
