"Brownfields"
are abandoned, idled, or underutilized industrial and commercial
properties where expansion or redevelopment is complicated by
real or perceived contamination. BASELINE has been actively involved
in assisting municipalities, including the City of Stockton,
the City of Oakland, and the City of Sacramento, in their Brownfields redevelopment projects.
Some of these projects have been funded by the U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency under Brownfields Pilot Project Grants while others have been redevelopment agency projects. Some
