BASELINE
has worked extensively with public agencies engaged in major
public works projects. Many of these projects are in cities where
historic land uses have c aused
the presence of contamination in the underlying soil and groundwater,
or in areas underlain by artificial fill or naturally-occurring
asbestos-containing bedrock. As a result, special precautions
are required to ensure the health and safety of the construction
workers and the surrounding community, as well as special excavated
soil and groundwater management.
BASELINE
has provided full-time inspectors to such public works projects
to ensure compliance with the requirements of the bid specifications
in terms of health and safety, soil management, and CEQA mitigation
measures. BASELINE inspectors also collect air samples and conduct
noise measurements to ensure compliance with air and noise performance
standards, dictated by other agencies or ordinances.
