Risk
assesments are effective tools in the evaluation of remediation
options for contaminated sites. We employ the data quality objectives process to
ensure that data collected during field investigations are suitable
for evaluating the potential risk a site may pose to human health
and the environment. We have completed risk assessment projects
for sites contaminated with metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, volatile
organics, semi-volatile organics, and pesticides and herbicides.
The types of projects we have completed for municipal, industrial,
and private clients, with regulatory concurrence, include the
following:
- Preliminary
Endangerment Assessments, in accordance with California Department
of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) guidelines
- Human
Health Risk Assessments, in accordance with DTSC and U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) guidelines
- Risk-based
Corrective Actions Screening Level development, in accordance
with the American Society for Testing and Materials, U.S. EPA,
and City of Oakland guidelines
- Ecological
Health Risk Assessments and Screening Assessments
- Third-party
risk assessment review
