Risk assessments are
effective tools in the evaluation of remediation options for contaminated
sites. We employ the data quality objectives process to ensure
that data collected during field investigations are suitable for
evaluating the potential risk a site may pose to human health and the
environment. We have completed risk assessment projects for sites
contaminated with metals, petroleum hydrocarbons, volatile organics,
semi-volatile organics, pesticides, and herbicides. We have also developed cleanup goals for soil, groundwater, and surface water for sites overseen by local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. The types of projects
we have completed for municipal and private clients with regulatory
concurrence, include:
-
Preliminary Endangerment
Assessments, in accordance with California Department of Toxic
Substances Control (DTSC) guidelines
-
Human Health Risk
Assessments, in accordance with DTSC and U.S. EPA guidelines
-
Risk-based Corrective
Actions Screening Level development, in accordance with the American
Society for Testing and Materials, U.S. EPA, and City of Oakland
guidelines
-
Fate and transport modeling of petroleum, cyanide, metals, and other organic compounds
-
Ecological Health Risk
Assessments and Screening Assessments
